Analyzing the Effects of Social Isolation on the Mental Health of Elderly Individuals. – MSC

Abstract:

This research study aims to analyze the effects of social isolation on the mental health of elderly individuals. Social isolation, characterized by a lack of social connections and meaningful interactions, has been recognized as a significant risk factor for poor mental health outcomes among the elderly population. This study seeks to explore the extent to which social isolation influences mental health, including depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline, among elderly individuals. The research will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of social isolation on the mental well-being of elderly individuals and provide insights for healthcare professionals and policymakers on how to address this issue and promote healthy aging.
