Abstract:
This research project aims to investigate the allelopathic effects of invasive plant species on native flora. Invasive plant species can have significant impacts on native ecosystems, including altering species composition and reducing biodiversity. Allelopathy, the chemical interaction between plants, is one mechanism through which invasive plants can negatively affect native flora. This study will examine the allelopathic potential of selected invasive plant species, identify the allelochemicals involved, and assess their effects on native plant growth and germination.
